Masters of Light brings together for the first time 72 glorious paintings from Dutch old masters who influenced such artists as Rembrandt and Vermeer. Oragnized in themes that explore the dramatic religious imagery, theatrical lighting effects, sensuous, soft surface qualities, and idealized scenery that characterize the art of Utrecht. The artists lived in the city of Utrecht during the first half of the 17th century. Included in the exhibit are Honthorst, Brugghen, Bloemaert, Wytewael, and a number of other artists.
