Oil Painting Reproductions at 1st Art Gallery

Even if we are convinced that we know Rembrandt's face, we would still like a second opinion. A portrait of him viewed through a second artist's eyes would be a great find. What did he really look like? Each of his self portraits shows a slightly different person, just as our own photos do. When you look at his self portraits as a group you feel you recognize him. They look like him but is it really him. The truth may never be known.

"Everything that art and the brush can achieve was possible for him, and he was the greatest painter of the time and is still unsurpassed."
-Gerard de Lairesse on Rembrandt in 1707
