BALLEROY, Count Albert de
1828-1873
In the 1850's Balleroy, who specialized in hunting scenes, shared with Manet the studio in which the boy assistant Alexandre hung himself. Balleroy stands next to Manet in Music in the Tuileries. His family property was in Calvados and as a Deputy to the Assembly in Bordeaux in 1871 he took Manet to listen to the proceedings. he exhibited regularly at the Salon and was renowned for the brilliance of his technique.
