Manet shows us Monet in deep concentration, at work on one of of over 150 landscapes he paitned in his six years at Argenteuil. Manet influenced by Monet painted outdoors nad used brighter colours and more descriptive brushwork. Manet was primarily a fgurative painter, and it is as if he wanted to record for prosterity the way in which Monet worked, thereby paying homage to his friend's achievements. |
