Christ at Emmaus 1937 Museum Boymans This painting was bought by the Boymans Museum on the advice of Abraham Bredius and hung there for seven years. Dr. van Altena an art historian had condemned the painting at first sight but the war was ready to start and travel was impossible to the Netherlands.
